The construction of this garden pool with ocean views in South Coogee was a successful addition the family house.

The garden was orientated to the north east, over the ocean towards Coogee Beach and has wonderful aspect that was somewhat under-utilised. Design King was commissioned to design the pool and landscape for this family with young children, and transform the garden into a lively, well-loved space.

Relating a pool design to an existing house, landscape and prospect isn’t always an easy negotiation. Through careful planning and choice of materiality however, the final result has proved to be very successful.

The landscaping design capitalised on the beautiful light the garden experienced, and filled the site with grass and various plants that gave it a certain vibrancy and life. The concrete tiles work beautifully in contrast to the natural vegetation, and soak up the sunshine, making them beautiful to walk over or rest upon.

From an inaccessible space, to a beautiful pool bathed in sunshine, this garden pool with ocean views is well loved by the family and friends. Set back amongst the leaves, with glimpses of the ocean beyond, the design creates a spectacular spot for enjoying the sun, views, and joy of external living.
