The project required the replacement of a badly run down and poorly constructed pool area on a steep waterfront property in Sydney’s northern suburbs. The design sought to establish a strong connection between the existing house and the steep but spectacular land fronting middle harbour.
The new complex creates a spectacular platform from which to enjoy the sun, view and joys of external living. The pool was setback behind an existing sandstone wall, with the terraces cantilevering over the forest below. It creates an external living room for the house with a sheltered cabana that creates a shaded and sheltered area for dining, cooking and relaxing.
